Fall for you

In my humble opinion, every great song has even better lyrics that really hit home. & this is one of those songs. Stephen Gordon, I don't know who you are, but without knowing me you somehow know my heart.
Always,
L.A.

Lyrics:
This could not have been the plan
to be exactly where I am
never found a place to land
never found a flame to fan
not getting used to it
not getting used to it

And the dreams that came upon us
found out they don't really want us
Chase them down to let them go
they run faster than you'd hoped
And I don't get used to it
And I don't get used to it

I wanna fall for you, baby
I know it's nothing new, baby
But why does it all seem so hard lately
I wanna fall for you

And the years they keep me guessing
where to go to find a blessing
How long is it gonna take?
how much before it breaks?
Not getting used to it
A heart don't get used to this

Lord, can I still call you father?
I know I've been foolish and prodigal
Or is grace more like a secret?
Sit still enough and you can keep it
And I don't get used to this
not getting used to it

I wanna fall for you, baby
I know it's nothing new, baby
But why does it all seem so hard lately
I wanna fall for you

Sunday Song

Today is the day my sophomore year of college begins. It’s my last year in the dorms. My family is planning to move me in sometime around four this afternoon. I have yet to start packing. Oh, and I am without a working laptop. {I’ve been using the family desktop all summer.}

I’m not too worried though. It’s just another adventure in the wonderful life I’ve been blest with. It’ll all come together just like it’s supposed to. {All in God’s timing.} Until it does, I’ll make the time go by more pleasantly with the help of a little Regina Spektor.

What new adventures have you all been up to lately?

Always,
L.A.

500 days of summer & anticipation

I’m in a 500 Days of Summer mood.

This song is currently on repeat as I try to get a bit of work done before school starts this coming week. Summer has gone too quickly. I find myself crying for no reason far too often lately. The coming year is pregnant with possibility. I’m not sure if I’m quite ready for it.

Always,
L.A.

Sunday Song

Happy Sunday everyone. No matter if how hot the sun is shining or if the rain never comes, keep on smiling your perfectly imperfect smile, you never know who might just need to see just that.

Always,
L.A.

Sunday Song

This video’s quality is a bit on the poor side, but this song is absolutely amazing. Seriously, it gives me goose bumps every time I listen to it. Enjoy! Hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend!

Sunday Song

I don’t know what it is about summer, but it just makes me crave a good country song. All you Josh Turner lovers, this one goes out to you. (Doesn’t his voice just make you swoon?)

Always,

Robyn

I know I've already shared a cover of this song, but I've had the original stuck in my head for weeks, so I thought you might like it as well. I'm not sure what it is about it that reminds me of 80's pop. But it's contagious. I find myself dancing no matter where I am when I hear it start up.

Yep. I am lovin' it.

Always,
L.A.

Summer lovin' had me a blast...

Unfortunately though this summer loving isn't the romantic kind...hehe
None the less: I am loving summer!

I love bonfires that happen at least once a week.
I love seeing old friends. I love meeting up with new ones.
I love working for my father at a 9-5 job that gives me complete freedom on my nights and weekends.
I love that I've become the owner of not one but two typewriters in the last week!
(and one I found at a garage sale for only 50 cents! how much luckier can a girl get?!)
I love reading a book a day if I feel like it and getting to spend time in the library leisurely.
I love rainstorms. and thunder storms.
I love seeing my family every day.

Hope summer is treating you wonderfully as well!
Always,
L.A.

And just for fun I decided to link up the song that inspired this title.
I was obsessed with this movie in elementary school!

A dedication to my someday someone

This song.  Oh. my.  How accurately captures the mood I'm in today.  The lyrics echo my own thoughts so well I want to copy and paste every last one of them here for you to see.  In fact I think I will.

I dedicate this song to my someday someone.  The man whose hands were meant to hold mine.  In the words of the Civil Wars:

Why are you so far from me?

In my arms is where you are to be
How long will you make me wait?
I don't know how much more I can take
I missed you but I haven't met you
Oh but I want to
How I do
Slowly counting down the days
Till I finally know your name
The way your hand feels round my waist
The way you laugh, the way your kisses taste
I missed you but I haven't met you
Oh but I want to
How I do
How I do
I've missed you but I haven't met you
Oh how I miss you but I haven't met you
Oh but I want to
Oh how I want to
Dear whoever you might be
I'm still waiting patiently

Like the song says: "Dear whoever you might be, I'm still waiting patiently."

Love Always,
L.A.

Somebody that I used to know

"But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing"

This song reminds me of somebody I used to know, or at least thought I knew.

I hope he's doing well.

Always,
L.A.

p.s. Is this not an amazing cover or what?

There's something about this wonderful Sunday afternoon that just puts me in a Neil Diamond kind of mood. Thanks Daddy for introducing me to his music as a child.

Serenade me?

Being from the Midwest, it's almost impossible not to have an appreciation for country music.  After last night's barn dance, (before you laugh: I'm from the Midwest remember? We live for stuff like that!) here's one specific country song that I'm absolutely in love with.  Anyone want to come and serenade me with it? Please?

Always,
L.A.

We are young

"Tonight we are young
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter than the sun"

You only live once.  Live it right.

L.A.

*Cue random dance party

"I wasn't looking for this, But now you're in my way."

I tried resisting liking this song, but I just can't do it anymore. So here it is, the song that I cannot stop listening to.  No matter how bad my day's been, this song never fails to put me in an amazing mood. (or make me want to dance around the room like an idiot)  I hope that your day will be a little better as well after a quick listen.

Always,
L.A.

WARNING:
Listening to "Call Me Maybe" may lead to random, uncontrollable singing and dancing.

Great minds think alike

Looks like music was on more than just my mind today.
Read the article linked below at YouMe&Charlie.com.  I am loving it.

The song in my head

"Life’s too short, gotta live it long"

I am hopelessly in love with many different types of music, but here's a specific song I recently came across.  Even though the title is kind of ridiculous, "Young Homie" is undoubtedly stuck in my head.  Luckily it's the type of song that I'm okay having resident up there.  Also, it is currently being endlessly played in my room, probably much to my roommates annoyance.  Oh, well.  A good song is always worth it.

Always,
L.A.

Ah, P.S. Chris Rene's song also inspired this:

Music. It's beautiful.

Music moves people.
Music inspires people.
Music frees people.
Music heals people.

Music lets people know they're not alone in there struggles.
Music lets people know it's okay to be different, to be in love, to feel pain, or to be simply you.
Music lets people know they aren't the first or last to feel as if they're dying of a broken heart.
Music lets people know that someone else has gone through a similar situation and made it out alive.

Music is hope for the hopeless.
Music is relief those in pain or who can't ever catch a break.
Music is therapy that doesn't cost a thing.
Music is a canvas used for painting pictures of life as it is, as it was, and as we wish it were.

Music can change your point of view.
Music can change your life.
Music can create the movement that makes all the difference.
Music can change the world.
